Police are appealing for information from the public after an abandoned newborn was located at a home in Sydney’s west this afternoon.
About 2.40pm today (Friday 21 April 2023), emergency services were called to a home on Girra Road, Blacktown.
Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command attended and located an abandoned newborn baby at the property.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the baby before she was taken to Blacktown Hospital for further assessment.
Police believe the baby may have been left at the location between 12.30pm and 2.40pm today (Friday 21 April 2023).
A police operation is now underway in the vicinity, as officer’s conduct inquiries to locate the mother.
