Appeal for assistance after road rage stabbing in Cabramatta

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was stabbed during an alleged road rage incident in Sydney’s south-west tonight.

About 8pm (Sunday 27 November 2022), emergency services responded to reports of a motorist being stabbed at the intersection of the Hume Highway and Cabramatta Road.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 46-year-old male driver of a white Toyota Yaris for stab wounds. He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition where he is undergoing surgery.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command have been told a black Toyota Aurion – with two Middle Eastern/Mediterranean men – have stopped next to the Yaris. The passenger has allegedly exited the Aurion and approached the driver of the Yaris, before stabbing the 46-year-old man and fleeing the scene.

A white 4WD – driven by a woman – was believed to be travelling with the black Aurion.

As investigations continue police are urging anyone who may have information, or any available dashcam/mobile phone footage, about the incident to contact Fairfield Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
