Hosepower and Steeline GRP are joint winners of Northern Territory Business of the Year
Rum Jungle Meat Exports has been named the Northern Territory Exporter of the Year at the 2026 NT Export and Business Awards, after growing its export revenue by 4,000 per cent in two years.
The company has doubled its workforce over that time and was recognised for its regional economic impact and its contribution to the Territory’s livestock and buffalo industries.
Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro said exporters were a big part of the Finocchiaro CLP Government’s plan to rebuild the economy.
“Northern Territory exporters across energy, minerals and mining, agriculture, tourism, education and other services make a critical contribution to the Northern Territory and Australian economy,” the Chief Minister said.
“Just as we do in so many ways, with a relatively small population, Territory exporters punch far above their weight – and my Government is committed to ensuring they have the right policy settings to grow and thrive for the benefit of all Territorians.
“Exporters create jobs, support business and industry growth and enhance our reputation as a strong and trusted trading partner.
“Congratulations to Rum Jungle Meat Exports for being named the 2026 Northern Territory Exporter of the Year.”
Territory exporters contributed more than $14 billion to the economy last financial year. A record 439 nominations were received this year, with category winners spanning agribusiness, creative industries, international education and professional services. Export Award winners will go on to compete at the 64th Australian Export Awards in Canberra on 18 November.
Hosepower Pty Ltd and Steeline GRP were named joint winners of Northern Territory Business of the Year. Hosepower has supported mining, construction, maritime, oil and gas and Defence for more than 25 years, while Steeline GRP has delivered steel and manufacturing solutions across Northern Australia since 1995.
Minister for Trade, Business and Asian Relations Robyn Cahill said the winners showed the Territory is open for business.
“The Export and Business Awards recognise the people who are creating jobs, investing locally and building opportunities for others,” Minister Cahill said.
“From start-ups to family-owned businesses and major exporters, the calibre of this year’s finalists has been outstanding. Congratulations to all our winners and finalists.”
“Exports not only drive economic growth but help shape how the world sees the Northern Territory and the opportunities we present. We are focused on strengthening key partnerships across Asia with exports driving trade, investment and opportunity.”
