Appeal to locate woman missing from Sydney’s east

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from Sydney’s east.

Mrs Abjunara Begum, aged 74, was last seen on Jauncey Place near Flint Street, Hillsdale, about 6.45pm yesterday (Sunday 25 February 2024).

When she could not be located or contacted, officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Mrs Begum’s welfare as she has a number of medical conditions that require daily medication.

She is described as being of Indian/Sub Continental appearance, about 155cm tall with a thin build, shoulder-length grey hair and brown eyes. When last seen she was wearing a cream-coloured head scarf/covering, cream-coloured pants and cream thongs.

Mrs Begum has only been in Australia visiting family for the past three weeks and has no knowledge of the area. She cannot speak English.
