Applications are open: join our team as part of new Case Management Unit

Help shape the future of Queensland’s correctional system as part of the State’s first Case Management Unit

We are looking for people to join our first Case Management Unit (CMU) in Townsville, and become part of a specialised team focused on changing the way offenders are managed in custody and the community.

The CMU is the first of its kind in Queensland and is part of the Queensland Parole System Reform (QPSR) program, implemented to enhance how an individual is managed from the time they enter the correctional system through to their exit.

The CMU will facilitate incremental behavioural change, promote desistence from offending and improve readiness for release. This will be achieved by utilising a whole-of-sentence planning approach to maximise rehabilitation opportunities and effective release planning within the correctional centre and upon release to the community.

Deputy Commissioner Paul Stewart APM, Community Corrections and Specialist Operations, said the CMU marked an important milestone for the implementation of end-to-end case management, which was one of the key recommendations of the QPSR.

“This is a state-wide first, and our teams have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to develop a world-class Case Management Unit which will have life changing impacts on how we rehabilitate prisoners and support crime prevention,” said Deputy Commissioner Stewart.

“This is a unique opportunity to join a newly-established team and be a part of a ground-breaking initiative that will significantly change how we deliver community safety and manage offenders in Queensland.

“Working for QCS is deeply meaningful – transforming lives and communities every single day.”

The Case Management Unit is recruiting for the following positions:

Assistant Manager (AO6)

Practice Leader (PO4)
