The program provides rebates to enable primary producers in agriculture, forestry and fisheries to extend connectivity in their fields and take advantage of connected machinery and sensor technology.
The Australian Government’s $43 million On Farm Connectivity Program (OFCP) is now accepting applications under Round 3 for rebates of between $1,000 and $20,000 (GST exclusive) for eligible equipment purchased by primary producers.
The program provides rebates of up to 50 per cent for the cost of smart farming technology that helps producers improve on-farm connectivity, automate operations, monitor assets and livestock and adopt digital agriculture solutions, including associated installation and training costs.
Following a recent expression of interest process, close to 150 suppliers have been approved and signed on for Round 3. Price lists for eligible equipment that can be purchased through Approved Suppliers are available on our website. This helps primary producers compare costs and make informed purchasing decisions.
Eligible primary producers can receive rebates of up to $20,000 (GST exclusive) on approved connectivity and agricultural technology equipment purchased through an Approved Supplier.
For Round 3, first-time applicants will be prioritised for rebates, helping more primary producers access technologies that improve on-farm connectivity, productivity and resilience.
Rounds 1 and 2 of the Program delivered over $30.5 million in rebates to help more than 2,900 primary production businesses boost connectivity on their farms.
The OFCP is part of the Australian Government’s $656 million Better Connectivity Plan for Regional and Rural Australia which is improving mobile and broadband connectivity and resilience in communities across the country.
