The grant will help supplement 1 January 2025 award increases to leave entitlements for aged care workers under awards affected by the Fair Work Commission Stage 3 decision:
- 25% for residential aged care providers
- 50% for Home Care Package, Commonwealth Home Support Programme, Transition Care Programme, Short-Term Restorative Care Programme and National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care providers.
Eligible leave liabilities (accrued to 31 December 2024), include:
- long service leave
- recreation leave (also known as annual leave)
- personal leave (also known as sick leave).
There will be a second grant opportunity to meet further award wage increases on 1 October 2025.
