  • T&Z Pty Ltd architectural firm has been appointed to design a $32 million major redevelopment at Carine Senior High School.

The project will include new general classrooms, a sports hall, and additional facilities for science, foods technology and IT.

The upgrades will accommodate an additional 600 students as enrolments continue to increase, support the school’s highly successful science program and enhance the school’s new Gifted and Talented program which started with a group of Year 7 students this year.

This investment is in addition to the $18.7 million upgrade, including a STEM centre, which was officially opened at the school in September, and is part of the WA Recovery Plan.

The unprecedented Major School Upgrade package – totalling $492.2 million – includes

$319.2 million of new funding for upgrades and refurbishments at 63 public schools around the State, stimulating economic growth and supporting around 1,850 jobs.

As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

“I am excited to see how these fantastic new facilities will be designed to provide more exceptional learning opportunities for Carine Senior High School students, while also creating jobs during its construction.

“I was at the school recently to join staff and students at the opening of the new STEM centre, and these upgrades will further enhance the school’s high-quality learning environment.”

As stated by North Metropolitan Region MLC Martin Pritchard:

“Carine Senior High School has served the community well over the years and this rebuild will ensure this will continue for future generations.

“I am thrilled the McGowan Government continues to invest so heavily into education in the North Metropolitan Region and provide children in the area with a first-class learning experience.”
