Armed robbery attempt in Runcorn, QLD

Police are appealing for public assistance to identify two men who attempted to rob a driver at knifepoint in Runcorn last night, Sunday August 28.

At around 11pm the man was at the intersection of Beenleigh Road and Warrigal Road when what’s believed to be a black Hyundai Sante Fe wagon stopped in front of him as he waited at the traffic lights.

Two men exited the Hyundai and approached the man’s car, opening his door and threatening him with a knife.

When the man refused to hand over any items, the men got back in their vehicle and were last seen driving towards Underwood.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage or who may have seen a similar vehicle in the area at the time, to contact them.
