Arrest following Keysborough attempted home invasion

Police have arrested one person following an attempted home invasion in Keysborough on 29 July.

It is understood four men dressed in black entered a residential property on Cunningham Parade just after 7am.

A 49-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were home at the time.

The group of males fled in a white Skoda hatchback.

The male occupant of the house ran after the men and attempted to film them on his mobile phone.

The offenders stopped and returned to the home to confront the residents with what is believed to be a machete, demanding the man’s phone before fleeing in the hatchback.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

It is believed the vehicle used by the offenders was stolen during an aggravated burglary on Glenvill Court, Templestowe about 3am on 27 July.

Police arrested a 17-year-old Pakenham male this afternoon and he is currently assisting detectives with their enquiries.

The other offenders are outstanding and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who recognises the man or with information that could assist police with their enquiries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
