Arrests made after Frankston aggravated burglary

Police have arrested four teenagers following an aggravated burglary in Frankston overnight.

The alarm was raised after a woman heard noises in her Deane Street home before finding her handbag, keys and car was missing just before midnight.

About one hour later police were called to Paperbark Drive in Mount Martha following reports of suspicious activity and people nearby a suspect car.

Attending police found the woman’s stolen car and arrested four offenders at the scene.

Two 18-year-old boys from Tyabb and Langwarrin, a 19-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl from Frankston are all currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Several items of property, which are alleged to have been stolen in other incidents in the nearby area, have also been uncovered.

Detectives are also investigating a report of a petrol drive off in Frankston shortly after the car was allegedly stolen.

It is expected the teens will be charged in relation to the theft of motor vehicle, other theft related offences and aggravated burglary.
