Art & Science of Relaxation comes to Perth

Leading expert in relaxation and mind body health, Dr Judy Lovas returns to Perth to present her one day seminar on Evidence based Relaxation Therapy and Introduction to Psychoneuroimmunology.

This is a must-attend seminar for health, medical and educational professionals to enhance peoples’ psychological and physical wellbeing. Psychologists, doctors, social workers, school counsellors, yoga instructors, nurses and other allied health professionals learn the art and science of relaxation therapy and gain CPD points by attending Judy’s seminars.

“These seminars enable health and medical professionals to experience simple relaxation techniques for their own self-care and learn how to teach them to patients and clients”, said Dr Lovas.

Relaxation techniques are evidence-based, non-pharmacological, non-invasive, cost-effective and have powerful benefits on the mind and body. Research shows that relaxation techniques can reduce pain, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders and posttraumatic stress disorder (PSTD).

Participants experience simple relaxation techniques, learn how to teach relaxation in clinical practice and understand the science behind the benefits of relaxation. “I’m looking forward to presenting this incredibly important topic in Perth. With our modern busy lives this is a topic health professionals need more and more, to treat common chronic conditions” Judy said.

“I know that today’s society places a high value on being busy but we don’t emphasise the importance of regular relaxation. I am committed to demonstrating how relaxation can reduce symptoms of chronic diseases and improve quality of life”, Judy continued.

The seminar is divided into two sessions;

Evidence based Relaxation Therapy highlights the practice of simple evidence-based techniques and how to effectively teach them to patients and clients.

Introduction to Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) is a unique and fascinating seminar in cutting edge research on how the mind and body are affected by stress and relaxation. PNI demonstrates the effects of relaxation on neural, hormonal and immunological pathways and its’ role in reducing pain, anxiety, sleep disorders, inflammation, depression, trauma and chronic disease.

“Judy keeps everyone engaged. I learnt how to explain the biological basis of relaxation to patients and enjoyed the practical sessions.”
