Police are investigating the assault of a 55-year-old man and his 40-year-old wife at the Gold Coast today.
It is alleged around 5.10pm a 65-year-old man, who is known to the 55-year-old man and 40-year-old woman, has used a billy club to hit the younger man across the head a number of times.
The 55-year-old man’s wife has made attempts to help her husband when the 65-year-old man has punched her to the side of the head.
The older man has returned to his shop, before being held by security staff until police arrived.
The 55-year-old man was taken to hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.
The 40-year-old woman did not require any medical attention.
The 65-yaer-old man was arrested and taken to hospital for a medical condition.
Police investigations are continuing.
