Attempted murder charge laid after woman thrown from balcony in Redfern

A man has been charged after allegedly throwing a woman from a balcony during a domestic incident at Redfern yesterday.

About 9.25pm (Sunday 20 January 2019), emergency services were called to a unit block on Moorehead Road, following reports a woman had been thrown from a first-floor balcony.

Officers from Redfern Police Area Command attended and located a 39-year-old woman with serious injuries.

She remains in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

A 45-year-old man was arrested at the unit and taken to Redfern Police Station, where he was charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Central Local Court today (Monday 21 January 2019).
