Attempted murder in Fortitude Valley, QLD

A 32-year-old Fortitude Valley woman has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing at a unit complex in Fortitude Valley this afternoon, September 24.

The charge comes after a 44-year-old Herston man attended the Fortitude Valley Police Station with a wound to his abdomen around 4pm, seeking medical help.

It’s believed the incident occurred around 3.30pm this afternoon.

As a result, police attended a Bonney Lane unit complex, declaring a crime scene and taking the woman into custody.

She was also found to be in possession of drug items and will remain in police custody until she appears in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow morning, charged with one count each of attempt to murder, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils and possessing property used in a drug offence.

The man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard the attack, or who may have seen the man walking from Bonney Lane to the police station located on Brooks Street, to contact them.

The man and woman are known to each other, and the unit remains a crime scene.
