Audit outcome reaffirms quality of TAFE Queensland

TAFE Queensland has been given the tick of approval by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) this month.

Minister for Training and Skills Development Ms Shannon Fentiman said TAFE Queensland has been granted a seven-year licence to continue to operate as the States leading public provider of world class training.

“Queenslanders deserve access to the best vocational education and skills training – something they can be assured of if they go to TAFE Queensland,” Ms Fentiman said.

“And I’m proud that we are able to offer such high quality training in Queensland.”

“This result could not have happened if it wasn’t for TAFE’s incredibly hardworking educators who are shaping the future of so many young Queenslanders.”

“Its great news for current and future students knowing that they can access robust, and quality training that will help them achieve their career goals.

“It’s also excellent news for our employers – choose TAFE Queensland as a training partner and you will see great results.

“The vocational education and training industry in Australia should be a source of national pride. Over the past few years, we’ve seen instances of training providers taking advantage of the system. It’s refreshing to see providers like TAFE Queensland putting students first.

“This outcome shows how important the Palaszczuk Government’s support of vocational education and training has been.

“We’ve continued to invest heavily in training for Queenslanders and we will continue to do so,” she said.

TAFE Queensland Chief Executive Officer Mary Campbell said she is proud that the organisation has received a seven year registration.

“This confirms that we’re not only delivering our training in line with the national Quality Framework, but also that we’re providing students, industries and the communities we serve with the skills they need for future success,” Mrs Campbell said.

“Standards for training organisations in this country are high and rightly so – because Australians deserve the very best. TAFE Queensland meets, if not exceeds, these standards.

“Our commitment to providing training to the highest standard and delivering the best outcomes for our students is what sets TAFE Queensland apart,” she said.

TAFE Queensland will also continue to deliver high quality training services to overseas students, receiving renewed provider status on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
