The Australian Poetry Slam has moved online in the hunt for its next champion.
Logan’s online heat will be from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Thursday, August 20.
Armed with an original poem, heat performers will have a microphone, a live online audience and two minutes to capture the crowd.
Audience judges will select two Logan champions for the State Final.
Two Queensland wordsmiths will be chosen for the Australian Poetry Slam National Final at the Sydney Opera House.
Wordsmith Angela Peita, who will also be the MC and guest performer at the Logan event, will host an online workshop filled with tips and tricks prior to the heat.
This will allow participants to brush up on their poetry skills.
The workshop is from 6.30pm to 8pm on Thursday, August 13.
Anyone interested can register to be an audience member for the August 20 heat.
The competition is open to anyone aged 14 years and older.
