Australian surfer Molly Picklum says ‘YES to Optus

20-year-old Australian surfing sensation, and current #1 female in the World Surf League Championship Tour rankings, Molly Picklum, has joined the Optus family as the leading Australian technology business youth ambassador.

The announcement comes hot off Picklum finishing Runner Up at the prestigious Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach, where Picklum was wearing the yellow competition leaders jersey.

As part of the partnership, Picklum will feature in a range of initiatives to inspire the next wave of young Australians to say ‘YES’.

Picklum is the third Red Bull Athlete that Optus has welcomed into the family, following Olympic snowboarder and Optus Brand Ambassador, Scotty James and F1 racing driver and Optus Chief of Optimism, Daniel Ricciardo.

Optus Managing Director of Marketing and Revenue, Matt Williams said that Picklum is a great representation of Optus Yes mentality.

We are thrilled to welcome Molly to the Optus family. Molly is a professional in every sense of the word and her commitment to being the best surfer in the world is a true reflection of how great things can happen from having the courage and commitment to say yes.

Picklum is excited to partner with a brand that shares her positive outlook.

I have wanted to be a pro surfer for a long time, but I knew that wasnt going to be an easy feat. Achieving my goals and dreams requires constant commitment, ambition and a yes attitude day-in-and-day-out. I am excited to partner with Optus to help inspire the same mindset in young people across the country, Molly Picklum said.

Picklum has been influenced on her journey by Optus Chief of Inspiration Ash Barty, who is one of her biggest fans.

Mollys passion and optimism make her a great fit for Optus, and Im sure Australians will love watching her flourish as she builds her career. I am very excited to welcome Molly to the Optus family, and I look forward to working with her to inspire Australians to say yes to their goals and dreams, Ash Barty said.

Optus, in partnership with the NSW Central Coast local, Picklum, will join forces to connect with Optus customers in key regional and coastal markets. Molly will also promote Optus Roaming products as someone who travels the world and needs to stay connected to friends and family at home.

Picklum will also help promote the Optus Living Network a set of innovative tools that allow Optus customers to control their connectivity experience in the My Optus app, such as translating calls to other languages in real-time, and helping to reduce their environmental impact.

Molly will next compete at the Margaret River Pro, kicking off from Thursday 20 April 2023.
