Baanip Boulevard Boundary Road Signalised Intersection Project, Armstrong Creek West

The City is excited to announce the upcoming Baanip Boulevard Boundary Road Signalised Intersection project, a crucial development in the Armstrong Creek West Precinct Structure Plan, which will provide a vital transportation link and improved pedestrian connectivity for the community within the area.

The $5.3 million transport infrastructure project, falls under the Armstrong Creek West Precinct Structure Plan.

The key aspects of the project include:

  • Roadway extension of Boundary Rd (Mt Duneed) & construction of a 3-leg signalised intersection at Baanip Boulevard: This intersection will serve as the second northern transport link for the Armstrong Creek West precinct and the Mount Duneed Villawood development.
  • Implementation of pedestrian linkages: Connectivity of the residential precinct to the existing shared user path on the north side of Baanip Boulevard, ultimately leading to Waurn Ponds Station.

Construction is scheduled to commence late-February, with completion expected by the end of 2024. Baanip Bvd will remain open to traffic under changing conditions throughout construction.

The City recognises that this project will bring about changes to the area and appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents and road users throughout the construction period.

The Baanip Boulevard Boundary Road Signalised Intersection project is a key component of our ongoing commitment to sustainable urban development and improved transport networks in the Armstrong Creek region.

Mayor Trent Sullivan:

This project symbolises a major investment in the Armstrong Creek West precinct’s infrastructure, solidifying a crucial transportation link and elevating pedestrian connectivity to new heights.

Transport portfolio chair, Councillor Ron Nelson:

It is important that public infrastructure kept pace with the growing Armstrong Creek community. This project is all about making it easier for residents to move around and to access key facilities and services. By connecting the residential area to the shared path, people will be able to walk or ride to the Waurn Ponds Station.
