Bait rebates on way for small businesses, households and primary producers hit by mouse plague

Small businesses and households in regional and rural areas of NSW will be able to claim a rebate for the cost of buying mouse baits, traps and cleaning materials to combat the unprecedented mouse plague.

The rebate will apply to products purchased on or after 1 February 2021.

Small businesses will be eligible to claim up to $1,000 while households will be eligible to claim up to $500.

Primary producers will be able to claim a single rebate of up to $1,000 where their business and residence share an address.

The program is expected to be open in early July.

To be eligible to claim a rebate you must be located in one of the Local Land Services Regions listed below and you must provide receipts to Service NSW when you lodge a claim.

  • Central Tablelands
  • Central West
  • Northern Tablelands
  • North West
  • Western
  • Riverina
  • Murray
  • Hunter (Upper Hunter and Muswellbrook LGAs only)
  • South East (Hilltops, Upper Lachlan and Yass Valley LGAs only)

Multiple receipts can be used to claim the rebate, up to the $500 or $1,000 limits.
