Animal lovers are being urged to bake up a storm and help fight cruelty this Cupcake Day.
The sweetest day of the year is officially back on Monday 26 October, but participants can whip up and share baked goodies on any day in October.
Whether it’s a batch of cookies shared with friends at home, or a full-blown bake sale at school or work, every dollar raised will help sick, injured and neglected animals.
It’s easy as pie to register for free online, where hosts can download a kit full of goodies such as Facebook posters, a donation jar wrap, celebratory bunting, a host guide and more.
With safety precautions still in mind, there’s also tips for hosting a vibrant virtual event, and tools to help with physical distancing.
Superstar fundraisers will be in line for some incredible prizes, including a personalised pet portrait, and a virtual masterclass with much-loved MasterChef contestant Reece Hignell.
Those with a sweet tooth should dust off their recipe books, don their aprons, preheat their ovens, and head over to www.rspcacupcakeday.com.au to register today.
As stated by RSPCA WA Executive Manager Fundraising and Programs Ken Doran:
“We know that many people were busy baking up a storm during lockdown, and Cupcake Day is a fun and rewarding way to put those skills to good use.
“Despite the name, there’s no limits to the goodies hosts can whip up – brownies, lamingtons, sausage rolls or even that bread recipe you’ve been perfecting.
“It’s been a tough year, and we could all use a dose of sweet treats and feel-good fun. Your fundraising directly helps RSPCA animals receive the life-saving medical treatment, rehabilitation, shelter and care they desperately need.
“RSPCA WA relies on the community for the majority of the funding needed to help animals and give them a second chance. So your fundraising really does change lives.”
