Following an underground incident at the Ballarat Gold Mine on 13 March 2024, one worker has tragically lost their life and another is in a critical condition at the Alfred Hospital.
Our thoughts are with the families and friends of all those involved. We acknowledge the expert work of the response agencies in this very difficult situation.
A WorkSafe investigation is underway and they now have control of the mine site. The Earth Resources Regulator will support WorkSafe and any subsequent investigations.
