Ballina Flood Recovery Centre now open

Resilience NSW and Ballina Shire Council have opened a dedicated Flood Recovery Centre at the Ballina Surf Club, on Lighthouse Parade in East Ballina.

Open from 9am to 5pm (7 days), the Recovery Centre provides face-to-face support for Ballina Shire residents. The following services are available at the centre:

  • Resilience NSW
  • Red Cross
  • Service NSW
  • Communities and Justice (DCJ) – Housing
  • Services Australia (Centrelink)
  • Salvation Army
  • Social worker and counsellor
  • Health and Wellbeing providers
  • Counsellor/Chaplain
  • St Vincent de Paul

Save the Children has set up a dedicated play space and is providing wellbeing services for children within the Recovery Centre. More services will join the centre over the coming days.

Shuttle buses are helping people access the Ballina Flood Recovery Centre. The shuttle bus services are as follows:

Bus 1 – Lennox Head

Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation Centre → Camp Drewe → Lennox Head Cultural Centre → Recovery Centre

Pick up from Lennox Head at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm

Returning to Lennox Head at 10am, 2pm, 2pm, 4pm, and 5pm

Bus 2 – Alstonville

Alstonville Community Centre → Ballina Indoor Sports Centre → Recovery Centre

Pick up from Alstonville Community Centre at 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm

Returning to Alstonville via Ballina at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 5pm

Bus 3 – Wardell

Wardell Memorial Hall → Westower Tavern, West Ballina → Recovery Centre

Pick up from Wardell Memorial Hall at 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm

Returning to Wardell via West Ballina at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, and 5pm.
