Bayside Mayor Joins New Mayoral Advisory Panel

Comprising mayors from urban, regional and rural communities, the mayors will meet with Minister for Local Government Melissa Horne four times this year.

Councillor Stitfold said that she was looking forward to advising the minister on issues impacting Bayside and the Inner South Councils.

“It is important that state and local governments work together to achieve strong outcomes for our communities. Joining the panel will help me to advocate directly to the Minister on the issues that matter to Inner South Councils,” Cr Stitfold said.

The panel changes every year and is set up to offer the Minister advice on legislative, regulatory, strategic and policy issues that affect councils across Victoria.

This year’s panel is expected to focus its work on governance, representation, and inclusion.

Other municipalities represented on the panel include Kingston City Council, Hume City Council, Bass Coast Shire, Greater Shepparton City Council and Maribyrnong City Council.
