Bayside Patrol Group clearance rate a highlight as crime figures trend down across South Brisbane District

The Queensland Police Service advises crime figures in nearly all crime categories are trending down across the South Brisbane District.

At the same time the Queensland Police Service’s Bayside Patrol Group has a high rate of cleared crime in the majority of categories including, Robbery, Grievous Assaults and Sexual Assault.

In fact, police advise, the clearance rates for the majority of crime classes are above the state average.

The Bayside Patrol Group deals with crime in areas including Redland City.

The Member for Redlands, Kim Richards, said that every day she sees how hard police work to keep the community safe.

“Crime figures can change for a variety of reasons but what never changes is the commitment and dedication of our police officers.

“The Bayside Patrol Group’s determination never wavers and nor do the efforts of those police based on our beautiful Moreton Bay islands,” the Redlands MP said.

Capalaba MP Don Brown said police face a challenging and sometimes dangerous job, but their dedication can never be questioned.

“What we see with our police officers in our region is an unstinting effort to keep the community safe.

“On behalf of all members of the community I thank the Queensland Police Service for their outstanding efforts,” Mr Brown said.

Police Minister Mark Ryan said the Queensland Police Service was dedicated to providing an outstanding level of service to people no matter where they lived in Queensland.

“The Queensland Police Service deservedly has a reputation as a world class police service.

“There are few police services in the world that have jurisdiction over such a large geographical area.

“And few police services have to contend with such a disparate range of natural disasters, from cyclones to wildfires, to devastating floods.

“But it’s our police service’s dedication to everyday policing in communities everywhere across this vast state that also stands out.

“And that is what we are seeing in the South Brisbane District and the Redlands area.

“Policing that is dedicated to the safety of the community every day,” the Minister said.
