Beelbi Creek near Hervey Bay – vegetation fire 26 August

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are on scene at a vegetation fire burning near the intersection of Beelbi Creek Road and School Bus Road at Beelbi Creek. This fire is posing no threat to property at this time. Firefighters will be conducting backburning operations overnight to control the fire. Smoke may affect near and surrounding areas throughout the night and tomorrow, including Howard, Childers, Burrum Heads and Buxton. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Smoke can decrease visibility, so motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. If residents are concerned their property is under threat, they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
