Belair robbery suspect arrested

Police have arrested a man over a robbery and a second attempt robbery at Belair last night.

About 8.45pm on Saturday 17 June, police were called to a service station on Main Road after reports that a man had entered the store armed with scissors and demanded cash from the till.

He fled with an amount of cash but thankfully no one was injured.

Just a few minutes prior to this incident, staff at a Belair restaurant reported a man wearing a mask had entered the premises and demanded cash. The man left empty handed when staff refused to hand over any money.

Patrols searched the area and were unable to locate the man however through investigations; police were able to identify a suspect at a nearby home. The stolen cash was also recovered.

A 39-year-old Belair man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, attempt robbery and theft. He will be bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 21 August.
