Joondalup Detectives continue to seek information in relation to firearms stolen during a home burglary that occurred in Beldon between the evening of Tuesday 3 May and the morning of Wednesday 4 May 2022.
Numerous items were stolen from the home on Priscilla Avenue including three firearms, three 1kg silver bars, an ounce of gold and a green electric bike (pictured below). The bike now has gold coloured front forks and may have been altered or modified since being stolen.
On Friday 3 June 2022, a member of the public located one of the stolen firearms on a grass verge on Cherub Way in Currambine. Later that day more firearm parts, including a loaded magazine were located on Yale Lane in Currambine. Both locations are in close proximity to a school and local park.
Joondalup Detectives have charged a 40-year-old man from Butler with Burglary and Commit; and Stealing. He is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court on 26 June 2022.
The man was located hiding in a fridge at a residence in Butler whilst police were conducting a search of the property. A large amount of property believed to have been stolen during a burglary in Ledge Point was located.
The investigation is ongoing to locate the two outstanding firearms and the green electric bike. Detectives urge people living/working in the Currambine area to check their gardens and bins for the stolen items and if they CCTV, to check for any suspicious persons sighted between 2 and 3 June 2022.
