On Sunday 6 March 2022, the Murray Valley National Park’s Corowa Precinct got some special attention on Clean Up Australia Day.

Enthusiastic locals and members of the ‘Friends of Corowa’ volunteer group, which is associated with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, headed down to the precinct to clean up the reserve.

National Parks and Wildlife Service Ranger, Caitlin Headon, said: “It was a great opportunity to work with the volunteers to achieve some really positive results including getting rid of an old couch that had been dumped there.”

“It’s exciting to have so many people in the community willing to lend a hand.”

“We’re very appreciative of all the volunteers that took the time to come down, and to the Amaranth Foundation and members of the Men’s Group who provided a great setting to relax and enjoy a BBQ after the clean-up.”
