Bin collection changes during UCI – Wollongong

Wollongong City Council and Remondis are asking residents across Wollongong’s suburbs to put their bins out for collection the evening before their collection day during the UCI Road Cycling Championships period 17 – 25 September.

Some residents will also have changes made to their collection day. Impacted residents will receive a letter in the mail this week to let them know of the changes to their usual bin collection.

You can also see maps of impacted areas and details of the changes on the Wollongong Waste website or Council’s Bin Services during UCI webpage.

“We know there is a range of information out there for our community to keep in mind over the UCI race period. If you have questions about your bin collection the Remondis can provide personalised advice on your bin collection call 1300 362 360,” Wollongong City Council’s Director Infrastructure and Works Jo Page said.

“The one thing we’re asking everyone in our community to do is make sure their bins are out the night before. While most of our residents’ bin collection days aren’t changing, collection times may be earlier due to the timing of the races.

“Once your bins are emptied, we ask residents to bring their bins in as soon as they can. This will help keep our verges and roads clear and tidy during the UCI Road World Championships.”

If you miss the collection day for any reason, or if there is an issue with your collection on your collection day, call Remondis Harbour Cities Team and they will come back to collect your bin as soon as they can.
