Boating Incident at Mandurah

Mandurah Detectives and Peel Water Police are seeking information regarding a boating incident in Mandurah this morning, Friday 7 February 2020.

About 1:15am WA Police Force received information regarding a boating incident in the Peel Inlet area in Mandurah.

At this time it appears an incident on the water, in the vicinity of Boundary Island, caused the two occupants of a vessel to be thrown into the water. The vessel they were on, now with no persons on board, continued on without them but has since been recovered. The investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.

Another vessel stopped to assist the two men in the water. They were taken back to the Mariner’s Cove boat ramp where Police and St John Ambulance personnel met them.

Tragically, the passenger on board the vessel, who is believed to be a man in his 30s, died as a result of the injuries he received.

The skipper of the vessel, a man in his 20s, is assisting Police with the investigation into the incident.
