Australian households generate about one-fifth of Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions, which are the emissions causing rapid climate change. Everyone can act to reduce their contribution to climate change,

Making homes more energy efficient and being smart with your energy, along with shifting to renewable sources of energy, are important actions households can take to reduce carbon emissions and tackle climate change.

Because energy and water bills are not generally itemised like a mobile phone bill or shopping receipt, it can be hard to tell how and where energy and water are used in your home.

Doing a home energy and water efficiency audit can help you identify the high areas of use in your home and to find ways to be more energy and water efficient.
