The Northern Territory Police can confirm a 39-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a 47-year-old woman last month.
On the night of Friday, 18 September 2026, the pair were driving together through Yarrawonga, Palmerston when the man is alleged to have assaulted the woman.
The man was arrested on the night and initially charged with Acts Intended to Cause Serious Harm.
On 28 September, police received confirmation the woman had died as a result of her injuries. After appearing in Darwin Local Court today, the man’s charge was upgraded to murder.
He remains remanded in custody to appear next on Monday, November 2.
