Brighton Soccer Club Celebrate 100th Anniversary

Congratulations to Brighton Soccer Club on celebrating their 100th anniversary at Dendy Park last weekend.

The club marked the event with a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking ceremony conducted by Uncle Steve Ulala Parker.

The ceremony also featured the unveiling of an Indigenous mural designed by Vegas Fitzmaurice. The mural will be displayed on Brighton SC’s centenary jersey this season.

Bayside Mayor, Cr Fiona Stitfold and Cr Hanna El Mouallem, Dendy Ward, were present at the ceremony.

Cr Stitfold spoke at the ceremony, emphasising the importance of sporting clubs like Brighton Soccer Club in promoting physical and mental health as well as the ability to create strong social bonds and community connectedness.
