Agribusiness is going to be the next multi-billion dollar industry built by the Territory Labor Government.

Now over 50 per cent complete, the innovative Science Services Agribusiness facility will be the first of its kind in Northern Australia, boasting high-tech biosecurity laboratories which will be key to advancing our biosecurity defences and operations, and is supporting over 145 local jobs.

Currently, the Northern Territory’s Agribusiness sector is worth $1.3 billion, however that figure is expected to rise to $2 billion by 2030 as this precinct comes online and advancements right across the Agribusiness industry ensue.

Expected to be complete this year , the $15 million project will deliver a modern molecular wing, high level biosecurity laboratories for a range of scientific investigations, office accommodation and field testing facilities.

The new state-of-the-art Science Services Agribusiness facility is expected to attract collaboration with the Australian Government’s Biosecurity group and international scientists further adding to the growth expected in our Agribusiness sector.
