Building fire impacts traffic at Penrith, NSW

Police have closed roads around a building fire in Penrith this morning, as firefighters continue to battle the blaze.

About 1.20am (Monday 13 December 2021), emergency services were called to Henry Street and found a store well alight.

As Fire and Rescue NSW works to extinghish the blaze, officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command closed Henry Street between Station Street and Gaymark Lane. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

The building has sustained significant structural damage and, once the fire has been extinguished and the site secured, it will be assessed by engineers. There’s been no reports of injuries.

An investigation now underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the fire, and anyone with information or dashcam vision from the area at the time, is urged to contact police.
