Call for information – Pedestrian Strike – Roseberry

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in an overnight incident in Roseberry.

Around 8:45pm, It is alleged that multiple driving incidents occurred between white Toyota Corolla and a Silver Nissan Duallis along Tiger Brennan Drive, Roystonea Avenue and then onto Lambrick Avenue where it concluded outside a residence in Rosebery.

Just before 9pm, the Emergency Services received reports of a man being hit by a car outside this residence. Initial findings suggest that the offending driver deliberately swerved towards the pedestrian, causing the victim to collide with the vehicle before falling to the ground.

The offender then drove towards and narrowly missed other persons at the location before fleeing the scene.

Emergency services responded to the scene, and the man was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital in a serious condition.

The offending vehicle was located with damages shortly after the incident, and the driver, a 28-year-old male, was arrested.

The driver underwent breath testing, which returned negative, while the drug test was positive for cannabis.

The driver is to be charged with intent to cause serious harm, recklessly endanger serious harm and other traffic offences.
