Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an aggravated assault and vehicle fire which occurred last night at Alice Springs.
Just after 9:00pm a male and female were involved in a physical altercation near the intersection of Stuart Highway and Karnte Road.
Passing motorists stopped to assist. A vehicle was set on fire during the incident.
Attending police arrested the male while the female was conveyed to hospital for medical treatment.
Detectives from Southern Investigations are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Marcus Becker said, “Police are appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward, particularly those who may have dash cam footage and were driving near the location at the time.”
