Calling all creative Griffith kids

Griffith City Library is on the hunt for the City’s most creative budding artists.

The Design a Bookmark Competition is open to all primary students that reside or go to school in the Griffith Local Government Area.

The winning designs will be professionally printed and launched at the Library during Book Week which will be from 19 to 24 October and will remain available at the Library while stock lasts. The winners will also receive a voucher from Collins Booksellers.

Mayor, Councillor John Dal Broi said Library staff are excited to see just how creative Griffith students really are.

“I’m positive we have some very creative young people in our region and I can’t wait to see the entries,” Councillor Dal Broi said.

Library People and Programs Team Leader, Sharmaine Delgado said the Design a Bookmark Competition was an opportunity for local children to get creative and put their design skills to the test.” Ms Delgado.

“We are looking forward to receiving some original and imaginative designs.

“The theme for Book Week 2020 is ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’. Book Week is about encouraging little readers to set their minds free and roam among the wild world of books while celebrating all the best things about books and reading.”

All schools in the region have been provided with copies of the competition Terms and Conditions and a template. However, you can also pick up a copy of the entry form at the Library or download from the website.

Categories for the Competition are Kindergarten to Year 2, Year 3 to 4 and Year 5 to 6. The competition runs from 27 August to 25 September 2020.
