Calling for applications: Hawkesbury Local Heritage Assistance Fund 2020

Hawkesbury City Council is inviting owners or managers of local heritage listed properties to apply for Hawkesbury Local Heritage Assistance Funding.

The special character of the Hawkesbury comes from its historical background and beautiful environment, with many unique heritage homes, buildings and properties adding to the historic setting of the area. These irreplaceable and precious heritage items not only provide a window to the past of the Hawkesbury community but also add character, appeal and interest to the Hawkesbury area.

As part of Council’s leadership role in protecting and conserving these items, Council is now inviting owners or managers of local heritage listed properties to apply for Hawkesbury Local Heritage Assistance Funding.

The Hawkesbury Local Heritage Assistance Fund 2020-2021 is jointly funded by Hawkesbury City Council and the NSW Government, the Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Barry Calvert said.

“Heritage is not only important today but it is an integral component of the future character of the Hawkesbury Local Government Area,” Mayor Calvert said.

“Effective maintenance is the key for heritage buildings and properties to retain their originality and heritage significance into the future.”

The Hawkesbury Local Heritage Assistance Fund 2020-2021 primarily targets preparation of maintenance plans for heritage listed properties within the Hawkesbury Local Government Area and continues to provide funding assistance for minor improvements/conservation works to local heritage listed properties.

The Fund provides dollar for dollar grant funding of up to $2,000 for minor conservation works to heritage listed properties.
