Car in Aldgate Creek

A woman was lucky to escape with minor injuries after her car ended up in the Aldgate Creek this morning.

Sometime overnight, the woman’s car left the road and ended up upside down in the Aldgate Creek off Aldgate Valley Road, near Kiley Road. The 70-year-old woman, who was the only occupant of the car, managed to free herself and walk to a nearby house around 5am this morning, Tuesday 16 June.

She was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.

The Mercedes sedan will be recovered from the creek later this morning.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Local patrols warn rain is still falling steadily in the area and urge motorists to take care on the roads.
