A Strathfield man has scored the try of a lifetime, with a $1.5 million Saturday Lotto win putting an NRL Las Vegas trip firmly on the cards.
The Sydneysider held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4723 on Saturday 24 October 2026. Each division one winning entry pocketed a total prize of $1,523,797.81.
When we called to confirm the win, the elated winner shared he’d barely slept since checking his ticket on Saturday night.
“Thank you so much!” he laughed.
“I saw it before bed on Saturday night, and I couldn’t sleep at all.
“It was unreal. I couldn’t believe it, I didn’t know what to feel, I was just like ‘What is happening?’.
“I kept checking it thinking there would be a mistake. It’s so surreal.”
Though still wrapping his head around becoming a millionaire, the Strathfield man said a few plans were already starting to take shape.
“I haven’t fully thought about what I’m going to do yet, but I have ideas,” he said.
“I’ve got the mortgage and then I wouldn’t mind going on a holiday.
“I might go to the US for the NRL Vegas game!”
His winning System 8 entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
