Carnival Cruise Line today announced they had converted 30% of their International 2021 itineraries to Australia and New Zealand based cruises, offering Aussies more opportunities to see their backyard by sea and further support local tourism. These new domestic cruises will account for a $16.7 million boost to the Queensland economy[1].
Nine of the new itineraries departing Sydney and Brisbane will now visit the Great Barrier Reef and surrounding areas as well as Moreton Island.
Carnival will be making 30 new incremental calls into Queensland creating the perfect opportunity to explore all the beauty and grandeur of our own backyard. Cairns, Port Douglas, Airlie Beach and Moreton Island are a few of the destinations that will be included within the new itineraries. Guests will have the opportunity to dive into the turquoise waters of the largest coral reef system in the world as well as discover tropical rainforests and exotic wildlife that make Northern Queensland famous.
