The month of Christmas is almost here and the countdown is on as Hume City prepares to kick it all off with the return of the annual Carols by Candlelight on Saturday 2 December.

With just one week to go until Craigieburn’s Anzac Park comes alive with Christmas cheer, the stage is getting well and truly set for the massive line-up to sing and dance us into the holiday.

Fresh from opening for superstar Christina Aguilera in Melbourne, Rogue Traders frontwoman and former Neighbours resident Natalie Bassingthwaighte will MC the event while performing a number of Christmas favourites.

Bassingthwaighte looks forward to bringing locals together, knowing this time of year brings with it something special as she says it’s “a time for getting together and sharing with family and friends.”

“I love Christmas, it’s just such a magical time, everyone is in such a festive mood,” she says.

“I’m looking forward to Carols this year, and celebrating a night where a whole community can come together.”

Joining Bassingthwaighte on stage will be rising Melbourne artist Rance Lazarus, The Voice top four contestant AYDAN, local favourite Freddie Gibson, performers from local Primary Schools along with market stalls, activities and more from 5pm.

As per tradition, the Carols will go out with a bang thanks to a glittering fireworks display at 9.30pm.

Carols by Candlelight marks the beginning of a month of Christmas celebrations happening around Hume City.
