Catholic Health Australia has welcomed two new directors to its board bringing strong leadership and advocacy skills and a firm commitment to social justice.
Stephen Teulan, a former director with Uniting Care and principal director with Nous Group, and Bradley Prentice, Chairman of Southern Cross Care, will help drive the next chapter of CHA’s development.
They will replace current directors David Robinson and Don Neander.
John Watkins, Chairman of the CHA Board, praised the contributions of Mr Robinson and Mr Neander.
Mr Watkins said: “Catholic Health Australia has a unique position in that we are the only main player involved in public and private hospital care and aged care provision.
“On behalf of all our members I want to thank Don and David for their hard work and valuable contributions over the years. We are incredibly fortunate to be able to welcome our new directors who will bring a wealth of experience and new ideas to the table.
“Both directors have decades of experience in providing aged care of the highest standards, and this will be instrumental in our efforts to improve the aged care sector across Australia and ensure every senior Australian is treated with respect and dignity.
“They also have insight into working with Federal and State governments which will be key to us continuing our important work in advocacy. There is much to achieve in the coming months and years.”
Mr Prentice has more than 35 years’ legal experience in both private and government legal practice. As well as Chairman of Southern Cross Care (Australia), he is also Chairman of Southern Cross Care (WA), Director of Southern Cross Housing Ltd and Knicross Enterprises Pty Ltd.
Mr Teulan is well known for being a leader in aged care delivery and strategy and has undertaken major aged care policy projects for the Commonwealth Department of Health and two State Governments. He is a principal consultant with the Nous Group, specialising in
consulting to the health, aged care and not for profit sectors.
Mr Watkins added: “The last year has proved challenging for all in the health and aged care sector but CHA has continued to deliver care with compassion.
“Our new directors are deeply committed to continue the healing mission of Jesus and help us cement our place as a leading advocate for compassionate health, aged and community care in Australia.”
