CBA accepting donations for Red Cross

Commonwealth Bank branches in New South Wales and Queensland will be accepting donations for Australian Red Cross in its efforts to support communities in those regions devastated by the bushfires.

Money donated will help Red Cross in its assistance to those impacted communities through specialist teams available on the ground, supporting people through the emergency and through their long-term recovery in the weeks, months and years afterwards.

Anyone wanting to donate can do so by visiting a Commonwealth Bank branch, online at www.redcross.org.au or by calling Red Cross on 1800 733 276 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm).

“Our heart goes out to the many people impacted by the ferocity of these bushfires,” Angus Sullivan, Group Executive Retail Banking Services, said.

“We thank the tireless efforts of the emergency services and volunteers who have been doing all they can to protect the towns and communities in these bushfire areas.

“CBA has activated its emergency assistance package for our customers in NSW and Queensland and we encourage anyone impacted by the fires to contact us so we can discuss their individual circumstances and how we can help.

“Special arrangements are in place to provide support to Commonwealth Bank individual, business and CommInsure customers should they need it, and our staff are ready to assist them with any financial concerns or enquiries.

“Like our customers, many of our employees are members of these towns impacted by the fires and our thoughts and wishes are with everyone in these communities that they remain safe during this time.”

For customers in the impacted areas we have provided support information direct to them in the CommBank app and NetBank.

Customers can access the emergency assistance package by either phoning 1300 720 814 or visiting a Commonwealth Bank branch. Business customers with a business loan or a line of credit can call 13 26
