CBD hotel robbery, South Australia

Police are at the scene of a robbery after two armed men stole cash from a CBD hotel.

Just after 5.30am on Wednesday 18 August, Eastern District patrols were called to a Hindley Street hotel after reports of a robbery.

One man armed with a sawn off shotgun entered the CBD tavern, he threatened staff and stole money from the till. The second man armed with a machete stood out the front of the hotel. They both left in a blue Holden Commodore sedan.

The Commodore was spotted heading west on Hindley Street. CCTV cameras followed the vehicle which made its way to Port Road and was last seen heading north on South Road.

The offender armed with the shotgun is described as being Caucasian and about 183cm tall wearing a black bandana covering his face and a black hat. The second offender is described as being Aboriginal, aged in his 20s and was wearing a black Adidas jumper.

No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.
