CCTV images released following indecent assault on train in Central

Police have released CCTV images following investigations into an alleged indecent assault on a train last year.

About 4.40pm on Friday 23 November 2018, an 18-year-old man boarded a Lidcombe-bound train at Town Hall.

Police were told a man boarded the train at Central and sat next to the 18-year-old man, before allegedly touching him inappropriately.

The 18-year-old fended off the man’s advances before getting up and moving to the vestibule area near the doors.

The man followed the teen and allegedly tried to take a photo of him before the teen moved to another carriage.

Both men then got off the train at Lidcombe, before the man boarded another train.

The alleged incident, which lasted about 30 minutes, was reported to Police Transport Command officers who commenced an investigation.

Following further inquiries, officers have released CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist them.

He is described as 30 to 35-years-old, with short dark hair and a muscular build.

The man was wearing a dark blue t-shirt and dark pants.
