CCTV released over arson at renovation site of Wentworthville Police Station, NSW

Police have released CCTV footage as investigations continue into an arson attack at a police station under renovation in Sydney’s west.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command commenced an investigation after a flammable device was thrown into the renovation site of Wentworthville Police Station just after 5.30am on Monday 21 October 2019.

The building was unoccupied at the time and the site suffered minor damage.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

As part of their inquiries, a man was seen catching a train from the nearby Wentworthville Railway Station to Westmead before catching another train to Lidcombe Railway Station and arriving at Punchbowl Railway Station at 6.40am.

Detectives have now released CCTV of a man who may be able to assist with their investigation.

The man in the vision depicted is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, about 183cm tall, of a solid build, aged in his mid-20s.

He is depicted as wearing a yellow high-visibility shirt, dark pants and a black hat.
