Charges laid after man shot in Clyde

Three men have been charged after another man was shot in Sydney’s west yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Berry Street, Clyde just before 5pm (Monday 7 January 2019), after reports of a shooting.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and found a 48-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound to his foot.

Police have been told the man had been involved in an altercation prior to being shot.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Police arrested three men nearby. Two men, aged 22, were taken to Granville Police Station.

A 25-year-old man suffering facial injuries was taken to hospital under police guard. He has since been released from hospital.

Following inquiries, a 22-year-old Guildford man was charged with discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and common assault.

The second man, aged 25, from Guildford, was charged with discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Both men were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Tuesday 8 January 2019).

The third man, aged 22, from Chester Hill, was charged with affray.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Monday 5 February 2019.
